One kanwaria dies, another injured as truck hits them

New Delhi, Jul 29 (UNI) In the season's first accident involving kanwarias in the Capital, a teenaged 'shiv bhakt' died and another injured after a truck hit them in Samaypur Badli area of outer Delhi.

The incident took place late last night while the two, as part of a procession batch, were beginning their journey to Kurukshetra for the annual ritual of 'Jalabhishek', according to the police.

While Punit Goyal (18) was declared brought dead, as he was rushed to Babu Jagjiwan Ram Hospital, after the truck hit and sped away, Bansu Ram was admitted with critical injuries.

Both were residents of Samaypur Badli.

A case has been registered and search begun to nab the driver who fled the scene after the incident.
