Need for modern farming equipment: Langah

Chandigarh, Jul 29 (UNI) Punjab Agriculture Minister Sucha Singh Langah today exhorted the agriculture machinery manufacturers to provide latest and modern agriculture equipment to farmers to enable them to produce more with less cost and labour.

Mr Langah, who held a meeting with 75 prominent industrialists who manufacture agriculture machinery and tools, stressed upon manufacturing paddy transplanter, balers for paddy straw, cotton picker, sugarcane harvesting and peeling machine, sprayers and pruners for orchards to avoid inconvenience faced by the farmers.

He said the government would extend all possible help to industrialists if they want to get latest technical knowhow from developed countries.

The department would also organise training camps throughout the state to educate the farming community regarding latest technical knowhow.
