MCX metals, agro-commodities composite index up

Mumbai, Jul 29 (UNI) The composite index of metals and agro-commodities was up by 0.17 per cent at 2,957.64 points in the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) today.

Gold February 09 contract rose by 0.69 per cent to Rs 13,050 per 10 grams, silver March 09 by 0.53 per cent to Rs 25,035 per kg and platinum September 08 contract up by 0.36 per cent to Rs 24,430 per 10 grams.

Aluminum September 08 contract rose by 0.47 per cent to Rs 128.15 per kg and lead September 08 contract by 21.61 per cent to Rs 97.75 per kg, an MCX release said.

However, copper August 08 contract was down by 0.72 per cent to Rs 338 per kg, nickel July 08 contract declined by 1.36 per cent to Rs 792.90 per kg and zinc July 08 contract by 1.54 per cent to Rs 79.80 per kg.

Crude oil October 08 contract was up by 1.26 per cent to Rs 5,384 per barrel.

Coriander November 08 contract was up by 1.30 per cent to Rs 10,114 per quintal. Jute October 08 contract rose by 1.40 per cent to Rs 1,703.50 per quintal. However, turmeric September 08 contract declined by 1.97 per cent to Rs 4,725 per quintal.

Cardamom August 08 contract was up by 2.65 per cent to Rs 678.50 per kg, the release added UNI NV GS RN VKG1913
