Leopard menace triggers panic in MP villages

Barwani, MP, Jul 29 (UNI) A female leopard died in suspicious circumstances while another leopard triggered panic among the villagers in Pati area in this district's Rajpur sub divison.

Divisional Forest Officer V K Nema said on a tip-off about a leopard's presence a team was sent to the Rajpur sub divsion where the leopard was found drinking water from a nullah but died mysteriously after some time.

''The animal was cremated after autopsy,'' said Mr Nema.

Meanwhile, a leopard was seen making attempt to intrude into residential areas in the villages of Anjrada area on July 27. The animal mauled to death two goats of a tribal. While tightening patrolling in the area, forest department has cautioned people to remain alert.
