Heavy rains lash Kerala
Thiruvananthapuram, Jul 29: The South West monsoon is active over Kerala, with many places receiving heavy rains in the last 24 hours.
The Local Met office said many places in Lakshadweep also received heavy rains.
Vaithiri received the highest rainfall of 10 cm, followed by Ottappalam and Peerrumedu nine cm each, Mannarkad Thirtala and Kanjirapally seven cm, Kochi, Karipur AP, Manjeri, Kollemkode and Alapuzha six cm each, Chittor and Parambikulam five cm, they said.
The Met office also warned of heavy rains at isolated places in Kerala during the next 48 hours.
They said strong winds from the Westerly direction at a speed of 45 to 55 km ph would lash along Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep during the next 48 hours
