Arcot Prince urges Centre, State Govts to contain terrorism

Chennai, Jul 29 (UNI) Prince of Arcot, Nawab Mohammed Abdul Ali today urged the Centre and State Governments to contain terrorism with an iron hand.

Condemning the perpetrators of the recent serial bomb blasts in Bangalore and Ahmedabad, the Prince of Arcot, in a statement here said it was clear that the objective of these terrorist acts, was to inflame communal passions, worsen the peace situation and paralyse the democratic system of the country.

''This was an act of cowardice and savagery,'' he said and wanted the real culprits to be brought to justice at the earliest.

The Nawab hoped the investigating agencies would conduct an impartial probe, without any pre-conceived notions to book the real terrorists and expose them to public and punish them severely.

He commended the Tamil Nadu police for having taken swift action and preventing bomb blasts in the State.
