A devotee drowns in sea

Puri, Jul 29 (UNI) A devotee who arrived in this holy city by walk to offer sacred water to lord Shiva, drowned in the sea.

Police said the devotee has been identified as Premananda Sahoo(22) of Lalbag, Cuttack.

The deceased and his friends after offering holy water to the lord Shiva in the Loknath temple went to the seas to have a bath.

A huge wave however, washed him into deep waters. The life guards present at the site fished him out of the sea.

He was rushed to the district head quarters hospital but passed away on the way. The sea beach police have registered a case and sent the body for autopsy.
