US national sentenced to RI

Kancheepuram, Jul 28 (UNI) A Judicial Magistrate Court at Thirukazhikundram in Tamil Nadu today convicted a US national and awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to him in a homo-sexual case.

Judicial Magistrate Semmal convicted the US national Mile Patrick (47) on charges of indulging in unnatural sex.

The Magistrate also convicted and awarded three years rigorous imprisonment to one Srinivasan (27), who acted as his local accomplice.

The prosecution case was that Patrick, who visited Mahabalipuram in August last year as a tourist, lured local youths, promising employment opportunities abroad.

After couple of drinking sessions with them, he had sex with at least five or six youths. Srinivasan helped him in the crime, police said.

Based on complaints lodged by the victims, police arrested Patrick in August last year. He was later released on bail and police produced him before the court today at the time of judgement.

After the conviction and award of sentence, police lodged Patrick and Srinivasan at Puzhal Central Prison, near Chennai.
