Two killed, six injured as school bus falls into ditch

Saharsa, Jul 28 (UNI) Two people were killed, including a student, and six others injured when a schoolbus carrying students and teachers, fell into a ditch near Purani bazar area under the Simri-Bakhtiarpur police station here today.

District Superintendent of police Uma Singh said the school bus, carrying more than seventeen students and a few teachers, fell inside a ditch, filled with rain water and was submerged. A student and a teacher were killed in the accident.

The deceased were identified as Kalyani and Madhusudhan Shah.

The injured students were rushed to the local hospital.

The accident took place due to the driver's negligence, the police said.

The vehicle had been seized. However, the driver managed to escape after the accident. An FIR was lodged in the local police station.
