Two held from ex-MLAs resident for smuggling liquor
Mainpuri, Jul 28 (UNI) Police today raided a former MLA's resident and seized a haul of country-made liquor worth Rs 18 lakh in Bebar area here.
In a raid at Updesh Singh Chauhan's residence police recovered 1,026 bags of liquor containing 60,000 bottles and arrested two men from the spot.
However, the ex MLA managed to flee the scene along with family, police said.
On a tip-off of the held duo, police seized two trucks, in which the contraband were smuggled.
A named FIR, including the MLA, was lodged and manhunt launched.
