Situation in jammu eases way for anti-national elements
Jammu, Jul 28 (UNI) The ongoing agitation in the winter capital of Jammu and Kashmir has eased anti-national elements to plan nefarious designs and target the sensitive areas in the region.
''The security forces are preoccupied in meeting various modes of agitation and it has diverted their attentions from the militants, who might be planning to strike in the region,'' well-placed sources told UNI.
''The agitation over Amarnath land row has diverted the attention of the various security agencies, which are busy dealing with the massive protests in Jammu,'' sources added.
In the wake of Bangalore and Ahmedabad serial blasts, high alert was sounded in different states of the country including Jammu and Kashmir but the tense situation there is not allowing security agencies to be more vigilant on anti-national elements, source said.
''Alert has been sounded after serial blasts in the two states but security agencies, despite intelligence inputs, are not able to execute their job due to the disturbances in Jammu city and its outskirts,'' sources said.
Jammu is tense after the death of Kuldeep Kumar Verma, a protestor of Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti, who sacrificed his life on July 23 at the site of agitation for the restoration of land to the Shrine Board.
