Psychotropic drugs seized from Malerkotla chemist

Sangrur, July 28 (UNI) In the biggest raid of its kind in the area, a large quantity of psychotropic medicines were seized by drug officials from a chemist shop in Malerkotla town today.

Working on a tip-off, Drug inspector Mrs Kamal Kamboj raided the shop along with narcotic cell personnel and seized illegally stored 1,87,572 tablets, 28,000 capsules 1049 cough syrups with high psychotropic chemicals.

The consignment was worth at least Rs 2.20 lakh, Ms Kamboj said.
