Post-election strategy depends on Congress' policies: Pansare
Nashik, Jul 28 (UNI) Govind Pansare, National secretary and board member of the Communist Party of India (CPI) today said the post-election strategy of the Left Front would depend upon the policies of the Congress.
''We will decide whether to support Congress or not, depending upon their policies regarding the nuclear deal, inflation and other issues at that time,'' Mr Pansare told journalists in a press conference here.
The CPI leader was here as part of the Left Front's programme to create awareness among people about the nuclear deal and the Left's decision to withdraw support to the UPA government at the Centre.
''The nuclear deal will limit the nation's sovereignty and independence. It will also affect our foreign affair policies and create problems for our nuclear research. Above all, it will suffice only eight per cent of our electricity needs at an expensive rate, whereas we can produce energy on our own by investing less.
That's why the Left withdrew its support to the government,'' Mr Pansare clarified, adding that the Party will continue its agitation against the high inflation rate also.
As part of the awareness drive, the Left Front will organise a Drought Conference at Chandwad as well as public meetings of leaders Prakash Karat and A B Bardhan next month, CITU president Dr D L Karad said.
