Over Rs 13 lakh robbed from State Bank of Mysore
Mysore, Jul 28 (UNI) Burglars broke open the strong room of a State Bank of Mysore branch in the city and made away with Rs 13.23 lakh here today.
Police said the robbery came to light at N R Mohalla branch, as the staff could not open the doors, which was bolted by the robbers from inside before fleeing.
The burglars gained entry into the strong room by breaking iron-rods of the ventilator. They opened one of the six lockers and escaped with the booty.
It was not clear when the robbery took place.
Sniffer dogs were pressed into service. 1000 currency notes of Rs 100 denomination were found lying near another ventilator, police added.
