Monsoon vigorous; holiday for schools

Madikeri, Karnataka, Jul 28 (UNI) Monsoon in Kodagu has picked up and water level in streams and rivers are rising.

The district administration declared a two-day holiday for schools as heavy rainfall accompanied by winds are lashing the district.

Water levels at the confluence of Rivers Cauvery, Kannika and Sujyothi are rising alarmingly.

The district administration has instructed the people living in low-lying areas to vacate their houses. Water is flowing on the road at Napoklu. A holiday for Anganawadis was also declared.
