Migrant hangs himself to death

Jalandhar, July 28 (UNI) A migrant hailing from Uttar Pradesh, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself to death at his residence in Mithu Basti here early today.

The deceased, identified as Ramesh Kumar, hailing from Manpur district of Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, used to run a road-side shop.

According to his wife Geeta, when she woke up in the morning she found her husband's body hanging from the roof while the children were asleep in the room.

On hearing her cries, the neighbours called police.

Investigation was on into the cause of Ramesh taking this extreme step, police sources said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem in the civil hospital.
