Mahakal's 'sawari' in Ujjain
Ujjain, MP, July 28 (UNI) Lord Mahakal's sawari (procession) was taken out with full pomp and fanfare as thousands of devotees lined either side of this ancient temple town's roads today.
The deity was placed in a palanquin on which flowers were showered from rooftops even as cries of 'Jai Mahakal' rent the air and devotees of all ages danced ahead of the palanquin while a police band played in the rear.
Prior to the sawari, Chandramouleshwar was worshipped at the Mahakal shrine by Divisional Commissioner S K Vashisht, Inspector-General (Ujjain Range) M P Dwivedi and District Collector Shiv Shekhar Shukla.
