Madhavan gets bail in cheating case
Kochi, Jul 28 (UNI) A Lower Court today granted bail to fake Swami Santosh Madhavan in a cheating case registered against him on the basis of a complaint filed by NRI businesswoman Sherafin Edwin.
Chief Judicial Magistrate Ernakulam P D Soman granted the bail on the condition that Madhavan will have to appear before the estigating officer thrice a week after being released from the jail.
Madhavan was directed to furnish a bond of Rs five lakh and two solvent sureties of like amount also.
The bail was granted, as the final report on the case was not filed within the 60 days of arrest, as stipulated in the criminal procedure code.
Madhavan was arrested on charges of rape and cheating on May 13.
