Ahmedabad, Jul 28 (UNI) The death toll in the serial bomb blasts that rocked the city on July 26, rose to 49 with four more people succumbing to injuries at various hospitals last night, police sources said.

A massive manhunt is on to nab those responsible for the blasts, police sources said. A police team has left for Udaipur amid reports that four people have been arrested in connection with the blasts.

Life limped back to normalcy in the city, though rumours of detection of unexploded bombs in Ahmedabad and Surat kept cropping up.

In Surat, the diamond and textile market remained closed today, in view of the large recovery of materials used to make bombs from two stationary cars yesterday, as a precautionary measure.

As many as ten teams of security personnel have mounted a massive manhunt. Sketches of possible perpetrators of crime have been prepared with the help of witnesses.

In Ahmedabad, an unclaimed tiffin box was found this morning in Jashodanagar area of the city, leading to panic in the area. A team of police force along with bomb disposal squad rushed to the area.

An unclaimed bag created panic in Surat, which turned out to be a hoax.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress president Sonia Gandhi are scheduled to visit Ahmedabad this afternoon. They are expected to visit the hospitals where blasts victims have been admitted.
