BJP asks AP govt to release white paper on advertisements
Hyderabad, Jul 28 (UNI) BJP Andhra Pradesh unit president Bandaru Dattatreya today demanded that the state government release a white paper on the money spent by each department on advertisements since 2004.
In a release here, he alleged that the government issuing a large number of newspaper advertisements was a clear indication of its lack of respect for public money and its design of indulging in propaganda.
''TV channels and newspapers are completely flooded with Government advertisements everyday and every hour. It is perhaps for the first time in the country that an elected government has resorted to such a huge waste of taxpayers' money,'' he said, adding that if the Government saved some portion of the funds meant for advertisements, it would be able to save Rs 12,000 crore that it wanted to generate by selling lands.
