Agumbe and Bhagamandala receive 23 cm rain

Bangalore July 28 (UNI) Following is a summary of observations recorded by the weather office at 0830 hours today.

Monsoon was vigorous over South Interior Karnataka and active over the Coastal Karnataka. Rainfall occurred at most places over North Interior Karnataka.

Very heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Agumbe, Bhagamandala 23 each; Gerusoppa 21; Puttur, Hosanagar 19 each; Dharmasthala, Jayapura 16 each; Subramanya, Madikeri, Kushalnagar 15 each; Madapura, Kammardi, Mudigore, Kottigehara 14 each; Kollur, Jagalbet, Shirali, Koppa, Sakleshpura 14 each.

Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Bhatkal,, Siddapura, Arasalu, Balehonnur 12 each; Belthangadi, Joida, Sagar, Arkalgud 10 each; Mani, Honavar, Virajpet 9 each; Ankola, Tyagarthi, Soraba, Shimoga 8 each; Mulki, Sulya, kumta, Kadra 7 each.

Forecast valid until Wednesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at most places over Coastal Karnataka and at many places over Interior Karnataka.

Farmers weather bulletin: Moderate to rather heavy rain likely to occur at most places over all the districts of Coastal Karnataka and over Kodagu, Chikmagalur, Shimoga and Hassan districts of South Interior Karnataka. Light to moderate rain likely to occur at many places over all the districts of North Interior Karnataka and remaining districts of South Interior Karnataka.

Heavy rainfall warning: Heavy to very heavy fainfall likely to occur at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka, ghat areas of South interior Karnataka and North Interior Karnataka state during next 48 hours.

Fishries warning: Strong onshore winds from Westerly direction speed occasionally reaching 45 to 55 kmph likely along off Karnataka coast during the 24 hours.

Forecast for Bangalore city: Generally cloudy. With few spells of light rain, Surface winds will be strong and gusty at times.
