IUML demands welfare board for Ulemas in TN
Tiruchirapalli, Jul 27: Tamil Nadu State President of the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) Prof K M Khader Moideen has appealed to the state government to establish an exclusive welfare board for 'Ulemas'.
Felicitating IUML State Vice-President and popular writer A M Haneef at a function here last night, he urged Chief Minister Karunanidhi to sanction monthly stipend for all the muslim students in the state to continue their studies without interruption.
He said ''the IUML is very much with the UPA at the national level and DPA in Tamil Nadu, and this alliance will continue in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections also.''
