Open dialogue channels to restore peace in Jammu: CPM
Srinagar, Jul 27 (UNI) Urging authorities to open up all channels of communication and dialogue with all sections of the people, the Communist Party of India (Marxist) today alleged that the situation in Jammu was mishandled by the state government.
CPI(M) State Secretary Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami in a statement here today castigated the State Administration for mishandling the situation which has risen in the Jammu region.
He cautioned the administration not to use force indiscriminately and advised to open up all channels of communication and dialogue with all sections of people.
He appealed the leaders of different political parties to use their influence, so that the situation was not allowed to be exploited by communal elements and vested interests.
Mr Tarigami expressed deep sorrow over the unfortunate death of a youth in Jammu and alleged that the administration mishandled the situation and remained insensitive to genuine concerns of the people.
Lauding the people of Jammu for their wise, open-minded and secular approach during the last 18 years of turmoil, he appealed them to exercise restraint while expressing their resentment and reservations.
Mr Tarigami hoped that the people would not be hoodwinked and misled by some political groups, who want to use their miseries for political gains.
