JD(S) criticises Centre's non-cooperation on terrorism issue
Mysore, Jul 27 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and Janata Dal(Secular) JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy today criticised the Central Government for not responding to Karnataka's request for necessary equipment to combat terrorism.
Speaking to newspersons here, he said ''this is not the first attack of terrorists on Karnataka. In the past, too, following such attacks, the State Government had requested the Centre for assistance, but they have not responded so far.
The State Government should take all sections of the society into confidence and it would be improper to show an accusing finger against any section of the society, he said and added, it would be naive to think that by invoking Prevention of Terrorism Act(POTA), terrorism would be curbed in the country.
Mr Kumaraswamy denied that he was entering into national politics by following the footsteps of Telugu Desam Party(TDP) supremo N Chandrabu Naidu.
