Heavy rains continue to lash Mumbai
Mumbai, Jul 27 (UNI) Heavy rains continued to lash the city today, with the Regional Meteorological Department forecasting intermittent rains or thunder showers with possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in parts of city and suburbs in the next 24 hours.
Though the rail traffic remained largely unaffected, the Western and Harbour line local trains were running late by 15 to 20 minutes, according to railway sources.
The traffic control sources have said the road traffic was normal in most of the places, barring a few spots, where traffic jam was reported due to bad condition of roads.
According to the Regional Meteorological Department, Colaba in South Mumbai, recorded a rainfall of 139.0 mm, while Santacruz (suburbs) recorded 135.0 mm, within eight hours since 0830 hrs in the morning.
