Critical cancer surgeries demonstrated in AP
Kakinada, Jul 27 (UNI) Three most critical cancer surgeries were successfully performed and demonstrated to the participants in a meeting hall through closed circuit TV as part of the Surgical Oncology workshop conducted at the Government General Hospital here today.
These surgeries for treatment of stomach, thyroid and prostrate- gland cancer were performed on three patients by Srinivasulu, Chief of Surgical Oncology, MNG Cancer Hospital, Hyderabad. Earlier, explaining the main objective of the workshop, Raj Kumar, Principal of Rangaraya Medical College, said it would provide the much needed exposure to the doctors on the latest techniques of surgical treatment for the cancer disease.
It was organised as a part of the continuous medical education programme.
Dr Rajkumar said cancer could be effectivly treated, if diagnosed early. In-service doctors, private parctitioners and post-graduate medical students from all the coastal districts attended the workshop.
