CPM blames govt for terror attacks
New Delhi, Jul 27: The CPM on Sunday, July 27, asked the government why it had failed to track down terrorists and nail them even after so many attacks in various parts of the country.
The CPM Politburo, in a statement, also wanted to know the weaknesses in the intelligence set up, co-ordination with state governments and the steps required to be taken. Strongly condemning the serial bomb blasts in Ahmedabad yesterday, the CPM said it was evident that terrorist network was bent upon destabilising the country and spreading communal discord.
It said the ''utterly diabolical'' nature of the attacks could be seen in the way bombs were exploded in two hospitals, including a trauma centre, hitting the most vulnerable.
''Coming just a day after the Bangalore bomb blasts and the earlier blasts in Jaipur, it is evident that the terrorist network is bent upon a course of destabilisation and causing communal discord in the country,'' the statement said.
The CPM, while expressing deep grief and condolences to the families of those killed in the blasts, called upon people to maintain calm and foil the designs of terrorists to create a communal divide in the country.
