Another boy who had also been kidnapped ,however, managed to escape.

Irate residents of Sagolband and Imphal dismantled the house of a woman accusing her of being involved in abducting children.

Mr Joykumar said all police checkpoints were alerted to keep a watch on all vehicles carrying minor children and find out whether they were accompanied by their relatives and another purpose of their travel.

The BJP in Manipur also staged similar agitation, alleging that the state government had failed not only to control law and order, but also to check the price rise of essentials.
