Sirsa-based journalist Ram Chander Chatterpatti was murdered as he had been reporting a series of stories on the misdoings at the Dera headquarters and had also published allegations of rape and sexual exploitation against the head. Apart from the Dera chief, three others, Kishan Lal, Kuldip Singh and Nirmal Singh were charged with conspiracy and murder of the scribe.
