Rajkot to get water only on alternate days

Rajkot, July 26 (UNI) Following inadequate stock of water in Aaji and Nyari dams, the main sources of drinking water in the city, Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) has decided to supply water only on alternate days.

Presently, citizens get water for 20 minutes every day. However, they will receive water only on alternate days from Monday, according to a decision taken by RMC.

According to officials, frequent disruption of water supply from Narmada canal further deepens the water crisis.

The situation will improve only if the city receives enough rainfall in coming days, officials added.
