Polytechnic college to be set up in Datia
Bhopal, Jul 26 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced opening up of polytechnic college in Datia.
Besides, status of holy city would be accorded to Datia.
The Chief Minister made the announcement while addressing a women empowerment convention at Datia yesterday, an official release here said.
''Building of girls college would be constructed during the current academic session, while Badoni would be given status of nagar panchayat. Datia would also be linked to tourist circle along with Orchha and Khajuraho,'' he said.
He said 18 villages with no irrigation facility in Diraulipar would be provided irrigation water from Harsi high level canal.
Efforts would be made at the ensuing Investors' Meet at Gwalior for establishment of a major steel industry at Datia.
Child and Women Development Minister Kusum Mehadele presided over the function attended among others by the Minister for Urban Administration and Development Narottam Mishra, MP Ramlakhan Singh, MLAs Kamlapat Arya and Ramdayal Prabhakar, the release added.
