Patient declared dead found alive

Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Jul 26 (UNI) In a bizarre incident, a patient, admitted to the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) here on Friday and declared dead, started breathing to the surprise of those who witnessed the rarest of the rare incident.

The name of patient could not be ascertained.

According to the details, an unidentified person, lying unconscious on the footpath, was admitted to the GMCH. Doctors at the GMCH examined and declared him dead. He was to be taken to the mortuary for the post-mortem.

It is a common practice in the GMCH to keep the body in the casualty for at least half-an-hour assuming that the patient may come back to life and that was what happened today.

The 'dead' man started breathing giving a pleasant shock to one and all present over there. Immediately he was shifted to ward number 5, where he is undergoing treatment.
