Maha Yagna organised at Mithi on 3rd anniversary
Mumbai, Jul 26 (UNI) Family members of the people affected during the July 26, 2005, deluge in Mumbai, today organised a 'Mithi Maha yagna' to remember their near and dear ones, three years after the incident took place.
The yagna was organised by former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya, alongwith 11 Hindu families and four Muslim families, near Mithi river here.
Mr Somaiya, during the yagna, paid homage to the people who lost their lives during the deluge.
Mr Somaiya said very few people, who were affected during the deluge, have been provided relief and rehabilitation.
''Mithi project is only half done and the cost of the project that was finalised at Rs 1,000 crore has escalated to Rs 2,000 crore,'' Mr Somaiya said.
