Dhumal promises sops to mediapersons
Nahan, Jul 26 (UNI) Himachal Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today assured that all accredited journalists in Himachal would be charged same rates in Rest Houses as paid by Government Employees.
The Chief Minister gave the assurance that uniform rates would be charged from Journalists in future, during a meeting with the deputation of H P State Journalists Federation headed by Jai Kumar.
Former Congress government headed by VirBhadra Singh, had increased the rent of rest-houses for district and block level correspondents at par with common people at the rate of Rs 250 per day.
The other demands accepted were regarding reservation for Journalists in HRTC Buses, medical treatment, establishment of security cell in H P Secretariat to deal with media complaints and setting up of a Journalists Welfare fund.
The CM also sanctioned Rs 70,000 to Dr Brijender, Journalist from Punjab Kesari at Paonta Sahib for his By-Pass surgery from CM Relief Fund.
