Car climbs footpath: 1 killed, another injured
New Delhi, Jul 26 (UNI) A 50-year-old man was killed and another injured when a speeding car ran over them while they were sleeping on a footpath in the Nizamuddin area of south Delhi in the early hours today.
The driver of the car, Manjit Singh (22), who was drunk has been arrested, said the police.
The incident took place around 0200 hrs when the speeding car climbed a pedestrian way where some people were sleeping.
''While one died on the spot, another 40-year-old has been admitted to the trauma centre at the AIIMS.'' The police was intimated at about 0230 hrs after which the injured was shifted to the hospital.
A case of drunken driving has been registered, police added.
