19 injured in group clash

Shajapur, MP, Jul 26 (UNI) A total of 19 people, including women, were injured in a group clash at Khedawad village in this district of Madhya Pradesh today.

Official sources said a community feast and prayer in the Hanuman temple was in progress to appease the rain god when a man in an inebriated condition allegedly criticised the act and abused. Some people from his side also pelted stones at others.

The rival group too retalitated by hurling stones, injuring 19 people, the sources said, adding the injured were rushed to the district hospital.

Additional Superintendent of Police R C Pawar said the situation was peaceful and under control. Additional force was deployed in the village under Salsalai police station area.
