VHP wants AP govt to subsidise pilgrimage to Srisailam

Hyderabad, July 25 (UNI) Appreciating the Andhra Pradesh Government for conducting ''Mahavaruna Yagnam'' for rains, Vishwa Hindu Parishad International Secretary General Praveen Togadia today demanded that the State Government provide Rs 500 each to every pilgrim visiting the famous Lord Shiva temple at Srisaialam.

He told reporters here that while the Government was subsidising the pilgrimages undertaken by Muslims to Saudi Arabia and Christians to Bethleham, why was the Government ''discriminating'' when it came to Hindu pilgrims.

''All Hindu pilgrims in the State visiting the holy Shiva temple in Srisailam should be provided Rs 500 each by the Government'', he stressed.
