Shops to have name boards in Marathi in 30 days: Phatak
Mumbai, Jul 25 (UNI) Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation commissioner Jairaj Phatak today said all the shops and establishments in the city should have their name boards in Marathi Devnagari script within the next 30 days.
Speaking to mediapersons here, Mr Phatak said as per rule 20 (A) of the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Rules 1961, it is obligatory on the part of the employers to observe the rule.
''If the shops do not have their name boards in Marathi, they will be levied fines ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000 on each occasion for contravention of the rule,'' Mr Phatak said.
The fine will be continued till the board is not displayed in Marathi, Mr Phatak added.
