Red alert in Goa following serial blasts in Karnataka

Panaji, Jul 25 (UNI) A red alert has been sounded in Goa, with police keeping a strict vigil on areas bordering Karnataka that reported serial blasts in Bangalore today.

Goa's DGP B S Brar told UNI that special cells had been formed to check all guests visiting Goa, besides, intensifying checking of vehicles at the border points for suspicious characters.

A special drive had been launched to keep a vigil on strangers and intelligence has been intensified in all respects in the state, Mr Brar said.

The guest houses and landlords had been advised to inform police about the antecedents of the guests and tenants as a precautionary measure, he added.
