"Pasumai Thayagam" celebrates PMK Chief's birthday

Puducherry, Jul 25: The ''Pasumai Thayagam'' on Friday, July 25, organsied a tree planting campaign to mark the birthday of PMK Founder-Leader S Ramadoss.

Led by PMK Parliamentary Party Leader and State Secretary M Ramadass, the ''Pasaumai Thayagam'' volunteers planted saplings at severalplaces including Puducherry, Ozhuykarai, Villainur, Ariyur, Nettapakkam and Thirubhuvanai. At a function organised at Prof Ramadass' office, free sarees and clothes were provided to 25 poor women. A GO sanctioning Rs one lakh each to three persons for constructing houses was also handed over to the beneficiaries.

As many as 3,000 saplings were planted today in all the 23 constituencies in the Puducherry region.
