Nanaiah wants action on elephant menace
Madikeri, Karnataka, Jul 25 (UNI) M C Nanaiah, MLC, has demanded the state government to immediately initiate action to curb elephant menace in Kodagu.
Addressing the Vidhana Parishath yesterday, Mr Nanaiah lambasted the government for not using Rs 350 crore kept for the purpose.
In his speech, he explained people were afraid to go out of their house after 1800 hrs in the evening fearing the elephants.
He urged Chief Minister B S Yeddiyurappa to call a meeting of all the elected representatives' of the state, representing elephant prone areas, to discuss the problem.
The Chief Minister assured Mr Nanaiah that the government would respond immediately.
