Leopard injures villager, kills a goat in Kashmir
Srinagar, Jul 25 (UNI) A leopard attacked and injured a villager and killed a goat in the central Kashmir district of Badgam, official sources said today.
They said a leopard suddenly appeared at Khag in Badgam district when people were busy in their routine work.
However, before the villagers could do anything, the leopard attacked Ghulam Nabi and injured him. Later, he was rescued by other villagers and taken to hospital in a critical condition.
The Leopard killed a goat before going back into the nearby forest.
More than 30 people were killed or wounded by wild animals since January this year when a large number of leopard and wild bear infiltrated into towns following heaviest snowfall in 20 years.
About half a dozen wild animals were also killed by the villagers in retaliations during the same period in the valley.
