BSY to lead all-party delegation to Centre
Bangalore, Jul 25: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today said he would lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to apprise the Centre about the shortage of fertilisers, power, petroleum products and the drought-like situation prevailing in the State.
Talking to reporters after meeting Governor Rameshwar Thakur, he said he would fix the date for visiting New Delhi after holding discussions with the leaders of opposition parties.
The State was facing severe shortage of power due to failure of monsoon and depleting storage of water in the dams, he said, adding that the State was taking all steps to purchase power from different States and other sources.
Mr Yeddyurappa said he would urge the Centre, ''adopting a step-motherly attitude'' towards the State, to provide power and diesel immediately.
To a question on the details of his meeting with the Governor, he said he had discussed the situation arising out of the shortage of power, diesel and fertilisers.
