Kakodkar rules out any compromise on nuclear programme
Kharagpur, West Bengal, Jul 25 (UNI) Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Anil Kakodkar today ruled out any compromise on the country's nuclear programme.
Addressing the 54th convocation of IIT, Kharagpur, Mr Kakodkar stated that the country's strategic nuclear programme, which was already in the process, could never be compromised.
'' Nuclear energy with its several million-fold higher calorific value and negligible greenhouse gas emissions can effect a phenomenal change, '' he asserted.
Iterating that India was among the world leaders in nuclear technology, Mr Kakodkar, also Secretary to the Department of Atomic Energy, said the country required some additional uranium.
