High alert in Capital following Bangalore blasts
New Delhi, Jul 25 (UNI) Delhi Police today sounded a 'high alert' in the Capital following serial blasts in Bangalore which left one person dead and seven others injured.
According to a senior police official, all reserve forces have been asked to report and were being deployed. A strict vigil was also being kept at all important and sensitive places.
''Security at all busy markets, religious places and vital installations have been enhanced and the entire city put under strict vigil.'' All police posts have been alerted and were being asked to remain vigilant, he informed.
''Special vigilance was being kept at metro stations and air, bus and rail services.'' Besides increased patrolling in special areas, random checks were being carried at several points around the city to arrest likely trouble-makers, he said.
''However, there is no cause for worry. The arrangements are a precautionary step.'' People have been adviced to not panic and report any suspicious person or object they come across, the official added.
