Heavy rainfall next week predicted

New Delhi, July 25 (UNI) Heavy rainfall is predicted over most parts of India over the next week beginning tomorrow, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.

Rainfall activity is likely to increase considerably over Central and adjoining Peninsular India, particularly over Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra.

It is also likely to increase along the west coast and Gujarat with possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall.

Scattered rain and thundershower activity is also likely over northwest India.

However, the intensity of ongoing rainfall activity over foothills of the Himalayas and adjoining Gangetic plains and northeastern states is likely to decrease from tomorrow, the IMD said in a press release.
