HC orders handing over clerks' appointment record to Vigilance
Patna, Jul 25 (UNI) Patna High Court today ordered the Assembly secretary to hand over all the records of recruitment of clerks made in its Secretariat in 2004, to state vigilance bureau by this evening.
A single bench of Justice Navin Sinha passed the order while hearing a petition filed by Rajeev Ranjan Singh and Arun Dwivedi who had alleged that large scale irregularties had been committed in recruitment of clerks in the Assembly in 2004.
Counsel of the state Assembly submitted before the court that the Speaker had already ordered vigilance inquiry into recruitment of clerks made during the period 2000-05.
Counsel of the petitioners expressed apprehension before the court that records relating to recruitment of clerks could be tampered if it was not immediately handed over to state vigilance bureau.
Accepting the plea of the petitioners, the court directed the state assembly secretary to hand over all the records of recruitments of clerks to Additional Director General(ADG) of the state vigilance bureau by this evening.
Earlier, the state assembly secretary had placed all the records relating to recruitment of clerks before the court on its earlier directive.
Petitioners--Rajeev Ranjan Singh and Arun Dwivedi-- had earlier filed a petition before Patna High Court alleging largescale irregularities in the recruitment of clerks in state Assembly in 2004.
