Bangalore, Jul 25 (UNI) One woman was killed and two other people were injured, one of them seriously, when bombs exploded at five places in the city here this afternoon.
According to initial reports, the blasts took place at Adugodi, Pantharapallya near Nayandahalli on Bangalore-Mysore highway, near a park on Mallya road, Sarjapur road, Langford road and a place near Shivajinagar.
Police were yet to ascertain the materials used in the blasts.
City Police Commissioner Shankar M Bidari said a woman was killed in the blast on Sarjapur road and one person was injured seriously in the blast at Adugodi. Bomb disposal squads rushed to the spots immediately. Panic gripped these areas and people were moving around in fear.
The Commissioner said he suspected that ''it was the handiwork of miscreants who were out to disrupt peace and tranquility of the city.'' He urged the people to maintain peace and calm and help the police track down those behind these blasts.
