Clash in jail claims one life, leaves four injured

Bihashariff, Jul 25 (UNI) An incarcerated prisoner died and four others were seriously injured in a clash between two groups of prisoners at Biharsharifff sub-divisional jail of Nalanda district today.

Police said an incarcerated criminal, Arjun Singh, pounced over five prisoners following some dispute and injured them seriously by hitting them several times with a brick.

Later, the injured were rushed to the local hospital, where one of the injured, Alakhdeo Mahato, was declared brought dead. One critically injured was referred to the Patna Medical College Hospital.

Senior administrative officers rushed to the jail and pacified the tense situation.

Police, however, could not ascertain the actual motive behind this fatal attack.
