BSTDC takes several measures to boost tourism in Bihar
Patna, Jul 25 (UNI) In a bid to boost the tourism sector in the state, Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation(BSTDC) is initiating several measures for smooth and comfort able journey of the tourists.
Chairman cum Managing Director(CMD) of BSTDC Rashmi Verma said here yesterday that the corporation had bought two brand new Volvo buses which would ply from Patna to Ranchi and Jamshedpur.
''Among other measures, we will also introduce prepaid taxis for the railway passengers alighting at the Patna Railway Station,'' she said adding number of such taxis would also be increased at Patna airport.
''Ten vehicles of different categories would be available during the flight landing timings at the Patna airport,'' Ms Verma said and added that passengers would be required to deposit a fixed price at the counter at the arrival lounge for availing the services of the vehicles.
She said 26 vehicles were presently available at the disposal of the BSTDC and it would purchase six new vehicles soon including two Innovas which would be parked at Patna airport.
Among other measures to promote tourism in the state, the corporation was likely to introduce weekend tour services to places like Varanasi and Mundeshwari, Ms Verma added.
